It was starting Thursday, February 8th that voters wanting to state their preferences for the March 19th Illinois Primary could do so by voting early. City of Danville residents need to come to the Danville Election Commission Office, in the lower level of the Joseph G Cannon Vermilion County Administration Building at 201 North Vermilion.
Vermilion County voters outside the Danville City Limits can vote early at the Vermilion County Clerk’s Office, on the main floor of the Cannon Building on North Vermilion. Both offices will mirror each other’s hours; being open on business days 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
As County Clerk’s Office Supervisor of Elections Carrie Wilson explained; at this point, if you have to change something such as your name or your place of residence or to register, you may come in and make that change now, and do your early voting later. However, when the Grace Period Voting period begins on February 21st, then you would have to come in and make your changes, and then vote at that same time.
AUDIO: A certain time frame prior to the election; that if you have to make a change, you are required to vote at that same time. Before that, you are not required to vote. You could come in, change your registration or update anything, and then come back at a later time and vote.
Early voting is available up through Monday, March 18th; the day before the Primary Election.
