THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION COMMITTEE RELEASE
This Wednesday the Danville Juneteenth Celebration Committee will be hosting their 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Temple Plaza in Downtown Danville. This years theme is “Marchin Towards Freedom”.
This year the DJCC is working in conjunction with Crosspoint Human Sevices and thanks to a grant through Healing Illinois there will be free t shirts, food, ice cream, and raffle giveaways ranging from grocery cards to bikes, televisions, and tablets.

The celebration will run from 1-6 pm and will be immediately followed by a free concert featuring soul violinist Bell Darris and panel discussion at the Masonic Temple located at 109 North st. The panel will include State Representative Brandon Schweizer as well as Danville Vice Mayor. The discussion will focus on working to improve upon race relations and the stigma of mental health in the black community. The concert will run from 6-7:30 pm.
