Legal teams from both the City of Danville and Vermilion County have forwarded a tentative agreement for the joint tear down of the city’s Bresee Tower, and the county’s adjacent Court Annex Building. Danville’s Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr says the Wednesday morning (July 18th) meeting that finalized the proposed agreement took just a little over a half hour.
AUDIO: The meeting didn’t last very long at all. I would say it was maybe 30-35 minutes. And there was a strong spirit of cooperation. The assistant state’s attorneys that we worked with have been excellent throughout this process.
Up next will be discussions of the tentative agreement among both city and county board committees. The city will have their turn at the Public Works Committee meeting; set for Tuesday, August 13th.
