The Survivor Resource Center is joining forces with the Danville Family YMCA this coming Saturday (Aug 10th) for the 2nd annual Violence Prevention Task Force of Vermilion County HOOPS AGAINST VIOLENCE clinic.
Survivor Resource Center Marketing and Special Events Coordinator Megan Bolen says this is a basketball clinic for guys and girls in the 5th through 8th grades, with basketball talk, and much more, on the schedule.
AUDIO: It’s a free one day basketball skills camp. The athletes will be taught valuable skills for on and off of the court. Participants will receive an event T-shirt. We have custom basketballs, full size; sweat bands, wrist bands; and they will receive, after the clinic, a personalized basketball card.
Some guest speakers are scheduled as well. Registration Saturday morning at the YMCA begins at 9:30; camp runs from 10 to 2:30, and lunch will be provided. Forty spots are available, so to sign up ahead of time, go to the Survivor Resource Center or Violence Prevention Task Force page and use the QR code.
