The Following is a 32nd Degree Masons of the Danville Scottish Rite Release
DANVILLE, IL, November 5, 2025- The 32nd Degree Masons of the Danville Scottish Rite will host a public dinner and play on December 6th at the Danville Masonic, 109 W. North Street, Danville. The dinner will begin at 5:30 pm and will feature spaghetti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, dessert, and iced tea and lemonade. The play, December’s Rose, will follow dinner at 6:30 pm.
December’s Rose is a heartwarming play perfect for the Christmas Season. The play explores themes of selfishness and selflessness, pride and humility, anger and forgiveness, and desperation and hope. It will bring a tear to your eye, a smile to your face, and warmth to your heart. Play director, James D. Peplow, II said, “We invite you to enjoy with us a meal and this play that will be the perfect start to your holiday season.”
The play is a Masonic Classic portrayed publicly by Masons across the United States. It is adapted from a play by Carl H. Claudy and revised by Theodore E. Torok. It takes place in a small country Masonic Lodge in the early part of the 20th century. While the play is set in a slower simpler time, its themes are timeless and still ring true today.
