ROSSVILLE — Residents of this close-knit community often think of ways to help each other.
It’s been through a community garden, a Little Free Library and other efforts.
Now, a Rossville Blessing Box has been created to help with continuing food insecurity. Anyone can walk up and take food and other items they need, and anyone can donate items.
Reagan Walder, who built the box located along Route 1 in the 200 block of South Chicago Street, at Park Place and Route 1 which is a block south of Casey’s, said it all started with a social media post from Rylee Glass and Zaina Johnson.
Walder said he and his wife had just thought about finding a way to help the community with everything going on with SNAP benefits and families struggling to pay for groceries.
