Local standout Josiah Williams is officially headed to the IHSA State Finals. After a grueling postseason run, Williams has qualified for the IHSA State Individual Wrestling Championships held at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois.
Competing in the highly competitive 175-lb weight class, Williams secured his spot among the state’s elite through consistent, high-level performances over the last two weeks. He enters the state tournament battle-tested, having earned a 2nd-place finish at Regionals and a hard-fought 4th-place podium spot at Sectionals. The IHSA State Finals represent the pinnacle of Illinois high school wrestling, bringing together the top qualifiers from across the state for a three-day pursuit of a state title.
Williams is scheduled to take the mat for his opening match tomorrow, Thursday, February 19, at approximately 1:30 PM.
