The pictures above show a large section of the metal roof from Mark Denman Elementary School that was ripped off and draped over power lines in front of the school, some downed tree limbs where city Public Works crews had already pushed some aside to help with traffic, as well as a fire hydrant with a trampoline wrapped around it. All were taken on Danville’s east side this morning.
The picture below shows a funnel-shaped cloud forming above I-74 in Tilton.

The Vermilion County 9-1-1 Emergency Center said over 10,000 people in the county still didn’t have power (as of early Friday afternoon.) The Center also said it had no information on when the power will be restored and that residents should call their service provider to get that information and not 9-1-1. You should call 9-1-1 only if you have a true emergency.
Meanwhile, the Danville Dans game tonight at Danville Stadium is postponed due to wet grounds. Plans are to play it tomorrow (Saturday) as part of a doubleheader starting at 5:30 p. m.
