THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Danville, Illinois – The Danville Fire Department will be utilizing the parking garage located at 22 N. Walnut Street as part
of the department’s firefighter candidate testing process for the 2026 hiring cycle.
The department will conduct practice physical agility sessions on the following dates:
Saturday, May 9, 2026 — 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Saturday, May 23, 2026 — 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Residents and visitors may notice increased activity in and around the parking garage during these scheduled times. Some disruption to normal parking operations within the garage may occur during testing activities; however, no road closures are anticipated.
The Danville Fire Department appreciates the cooperation and support of the City of Danville and surrounding community as the department works to identify and prepare the next generation of firefighters.
