THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On June 16, 2026, the Danville Police Department took a burglary complaint in the 200 block of W 7th Street. During the investigation, 29-year-old Tyler Nixon and 35-year-old Zoeykay Makemson, both of Danville, were identified as the suspects in the burglary.
On June 27, 2026, officers were again dispatched to the 200 block of W. 7th Street for a burglary in progress, with the suspects still on scene. Upon arrival, officers located Nixon and Makemson and placed them both into custody.
Nixon and Makemson were transported to the Vermilion County Jail and booked on two burglary charges, one for each date listed above. After these arrests, both Nixon and Makemson were granted pretrial release and were subsequently released from custody pending further court dates.
On July 14, 2026, officers responded to the 100 block of Kentucky for another burglary report. Officers collected digital evidence and identified Nixon and Makemson as the suspects.
On July 24, 2026, Nixon and Makemson were located by Danville officers and placed into custody on additional burglary charges.
On July 27, 2026, both Nixon and Makemson were granted pretrial release in connection with the reported burglary on Kentucky Street. However, their pretrial release was revoked for the burglaries that occurred in June. Both Nixon and Makemson remain in custody pending further order from the court.
The Danville Police Department would like to remind the public that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
