The autopsy report, along with positive identification, on the body found Friday (July 19th) in the Vermilion River is expected to be released by the Vermilion County Corner’s Office on Monday (July 22nd).
On Friday, the Danville Police issued a release stating that around 12:20 PM Friday “law enforcement had located a body in the Vermilion River approximately one quarter mile downstream from where the Danville Police Department had responded to a report that a 12-year-old had gone missing while swimming; Monday night July 15th, around 8 PM.”
Personnel from the Danville Police Department, Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office, and Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and the Sheriff Department’s Underwater Search and Rescue Teams had been participating in search efforts all week.
The autopsy, with pending forensic identification, had been scheduled for Saturday.
