Danville Police Chief Christopher Yates says this past Saturday’s (July 27th) “Mini-Marathon & Fun Day” at the refurbished Friendly Town in Lincoln Park was a well attended success.

The Chief says 250 to 300 people attended overall, and about 50 youngsters participated in the mini-marathon.
AUDIO: We had wonderful partners with OSF. They were very involved as well for the event’s athletic education. You had an area set up on the outside of Friendly Town. And it was just a lot of good times with a lot of good people coming out and enjoying the park and Friendly Town.
The event was designed to promote fitness and healthy lifestyles for the community’s children.
