The Midwest Veterans Association, Inc. “Thunder Ride” is among events taking place in the Danville area this weekend. It mostly involves motorcyclists, but all vehicles are welcome to join the ride which benefits homeless Veterans in East Central Illinois and West Central Indiana.
Registration for Saturday’s (August 3rd, 2024) ride begins at 9:00 at Fatman’s Warehouse at 138 North Vermilion Street in downtown Danville. The ride starts at 11:00 a.m. One-hundred-percent of the proceeds from the ride go to help homeless veterans in our area.
In addition to the “Thunder Ride” there are a lot of other activities taking place this weekend. At the Fischer Theatre the weekend includes free movies and a concert. The Vermilion County Youth Orchestra will be performing at the Fischer Theatre at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (August 3, 2024). Admission is free.
Of course, Downtown Danville is hosting its ‘First Fridays” event this evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. The event will focus on ‘Taste and Style’ and includes a Danville Area Community College presentation focusing on clothing and hair styles available at local businesses. The fashion show runs from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.
