THE FOLLOWING IS A TAPS ON TUESDAY RELEASE
At the August 6th “Taps on Tuesday,” Miss Georgetown Fair Queen 2024, Paili Davis, will present the program. She will focus on two Civil War soldiers that she has researched who are buried in the Soldiers Circle at Spring Hill Cemetery. Vermilion County War Museum President Larry Weatherford says that the information will be used in the application to apply for replacement headstones for the two cavalrymen. Both stones are unreadable. Rebecca Woodrum will sing the National Anthem that evening and Taps will be sounded by Anita Zoeller. Greg Green and Larry Weatherford will be the program hosts for the evening. “Taps on Tuesday” is a weekly event at 6:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery, and is presented by the Vermilion County War Museum and the Ward Hill Lamon Civil War Roundtable.
