THE FOLLOWING IS A HEAVENLY SQUARE GROCERY RELEASE
Danville, IL –August 5, 2024 – Heavenly Square Grocery Store is excited to announce its public grand opening on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10AM. The store is located at 1419 North Bowman Avenue, Unit C. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Heavenly Square Grocery quietly opened its doors in May 2024, and now- Pastor Thomas Miller, and store General Manager Marcia Keys cordially invite the community to a brief ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication to commemorate this historic event and community investment.
“We just want to thank God. He favored us that we are able to serve the community in this way. The whole point was to solve this food dessert we had here when the Save-a-lot store closed at this location. Now people near here have access to fresh, nutritious food and produce.”
Marcia Keys, the general manager and her staff will provide FREE food, kids entertainment, and giveaways for those who are present between 10am and 1:30pm or until supplies last. Excited about the opportunity to serve the community, Keys adds, “We stand here today by God’s grace and mercy.“

Heavenly Square Grocery Store opened in May 2024 following the closure of Save-a-lot in that space in 2018. This project was made possible with dedicated community partners including The Vermilion County Community Health Collaborative, funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, volunteers, friends and church family.
