Rossville, IL – Vermilion County Treasurer Darren Duncan officially announced his campaign for re-election today, reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding taxpayer dollars through continued accountability, transparency, and a vigilant fight against waste and fraud.
A seventh-generation Vermilion County resident whose family has farmed in Vermilion County since 1820, Darren Duncan brings a unique perspective to public service. For Duncan, Vermilion County is not just his home; it is his family’s legacy. His commitment to Vermilion County and her residents is unparalleled.
“For generations, my family has tilled the soil of Vermilion County, understanding that responsible stewardship is about more than just the harvest—it’s about protecting the land for future generations,” said Duncan. “In the same spirit, as your County Treasurer, my pledge is to be a vigilant guardian of your tax dollars. We’ve made significant progress in enhancing transparency and implementing robust systems to prevent waste and fraud, ensuring every dollar works as hard as the people who earned it. During his tenure, Darren Duncan has focused on modernizing the Treasurer’s office to increase efficiency and accessibility for taxpayers. He has advocated for streamlined financial processes, proactive fraud prevention measures, and clearer public access to county financial data, all while fostering strong, collaborative relationships with other county departments.
Darren Duncan is a devoted family man, married for 30 years to Natalie Duncan, Executive Director of the Danville Library Foundation, and the proud father of four children: Emily Duncan, AVP & Danville Assistant Branch Manager at Iroquois Federal; First Lieutenant Allison Duncan JD, an attorney in the United States Army JAG Corps; Laura Duncan, a nursing student; and Adam Duncan, a law student.
His long-standing commitment to his community, both personally and professionally, underscores his deep-seated dedication to the residents of Vermilion County. Darren Duncan and his family are congregants of St. James United Methodist Church in Danville.
