THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION COUNTY PEER COURT RELEASE
The Peer Court Auction is the primary fundraiser for Peer Court, a program that has helped first-time juvenile offenders in Vermilion County since 1993. Peer Court provides an alternative to the traditional justice system, allowing youth to take responsibility for their actions through a court process led by their peers. Participants receive meaningful sentences that encourage accountability and personal growth while benefiting the community.
This exciting annual event brings together community members, businesses, and organizations to support Peer Court’s mission. The evening includes:
• Live Auction – Bid on a variety of unique items, experiences, and packages.
• Silent Auction – Browse and bid on themed baskets, services, and more.
• Hors d’oeuvres – Enjoy a great selection of food throughout the night.
• Community Impact – All proceeds directly support the Peer Court program.
Donations of baskets, services, experiences, and other unique items are currently being accepted. Contributions help fund this vital program and make a lasting difference for local youth. All donors receive two complimentary tickets to attend the event.

It’s that time of year again. One week from this coming Friday, on the 6th of February, will be the annual Peer Court Auction at Turtle Run in Danville.
Attendees will be able to bid on some great items, with proceeds going to support the Peer Court program; where youth are given the opportunity to take responsibility for their actions, through a court process led by their peers. Participants receive meaningful sentences that encourage accountability and personal growth while benefitting the community.
The Peer Court program’s Katie Osterbur told CIMG that it’s great to have such strong community support every year.
AUDIO: It is really good, and feels good, to see the amount of support coming out of our community for us. Peer Court spends all year trying to get involved with other organizations and events. And this is the time of the year where we ask for the support in return, and the community shows up for us.
Items up for bid will include:
-Illini Game Day Ticket Package
-A Restored Vintage Refrigerator
-Illini Basketball Tickets
-Weekend trip to Blue Sky Vineyard in Southern Illinois!
Osterbur says that once again the man taking the bids for those and other items will be Paul Sermersheim.
AUDIO: Paul ran Peer Court for eleven years, and I was so fortunate to work with him. And I think the lucky thing is, once a year for about a month, we get to do it all over again and put on this event together. So, he is still heavily involved; he’s going to be the auctioneer. Tom Wagner is so great and always our emcee, and together they put on a fun show.
Tickets are $10, for the Peer Court Auction Friday, February 6th at Turtle Run. Doors open at 6 PM, auction begins at 7 PM.
