THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE RELEASE
DANVILLE – Danville Area Community College (DACC) will launch its second 8-week session of spring classes on March 9, offering students a fast, flexible way to earn college credit before summer. These accelerated courses do not require completion of a prior course in the sequence, though some may require placement.
The March session includes a strong mix of transfer, business, technology, and career-focused options. Students needing science credits can enroll in fully online lab sciences such as Human Biology, Introduction to Environment, or Physical Science II. Transfer students may also choose U.S. History Since 1865 in Hoopeston, Illinois History online, or a transferable math course designed to meet general education requirements.
For students focused on business and workforce skills, the 8-week schedule features courses in Human Resource Management, Business Communication Strategies, Advertising, Branding for Athletes, Retailing and Merchandising, and Intro to Risk Management. Technology and digital skills are also well represented, with online options in Intro to Python Programming, Business Computer Systems, Excel, Graphic Design, Digital Publication Design, Illustrator, Computer Essentials, and Virtual Technology for Business.
Several courses require no placement testing, and many are offered fully online or in hybrid formats with limited in-person time—ideal for working adults, students seeking dual credit, returning learners, and current students who would like to boost their credits for Spring.
“Eight-week classes give students the opportunity to stay on track, catch up, or move ahead without waiting for a full semester,” said Dawn Nasser, Director of Advisement & Enrollment Services/International Student Liaison. “Whether you are planning to transfer or preparing for the workforce, these accelerated courses help you keep writing your story.”
Space is limited for the March 9 start date.
