The mats are set, and Danville High School is ready to cheer on one of its rising stars. Freshman standout Yariah Shaw has officially punched her ticket to the IHSA Girls Wrestling State Finals, following a dominant post-season run that has established her as one of the top contenders in the state.
Shaw will represent the Vikings at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, IL, with the championship tournament running from February 26th through February 28th. Competing in the 125-lb weight class, Shaw has put the wrestling world on notice with a series of commanding performances. Her path to Bloomington has been paved by claiming the top spot on the podium at the regional level, setting the tone for her postseason journey.
Most recently, she maintained her momentum by defeating top-tier competition to secure the Sectional title, ensuring her spot among Illinois’ elite wrestlers.
