TILTON — The 6-plus-year wait is finally over: Culver’s will open for business Monday in the Vermilion County village of Tilton.
“It’s a relief,” said Mayor Billy Wear.
Wear said the process began in 2019 and has involved dealing with the state, utility companies, a water main, a sign company, moving a billboard and “a lot of stuff.”
“I’d have to say Culver’s is a relief, and a large benefit to the village and the residents of southern Vermilion County,” Wear said.
He said there are a lot of people in the area who love the chain’ butter burgers, custard and other offerings. Those in Tilton and the southern part of the county will no longer have to travel to the next nearest location on Danville’s north side, he added.
Wear plans to attend a Saturday VIP event at the new Tilton location at 1506 Georgetown Road.
