DANVILLE — Incumbent Vermilion County Treasurer Darren Duncan is being challenged in the March 17 primary by banker Jason Whaling.
The winning Republican candidate has no Democrat candidate to face in November.
Whaling, 48, of Oakwood, is vice president of mortgage lending at Fisher National Bank.
“Over the past 12 years, one of my proudest accomplishments has been helping moderate- to low-income households secure more than $500,000 in grant funding to assist with home purchases. Expanding access to homeownership and guiding families through responsible lending opportunities has been a meaningful part of my professional career,” Whaling said.
Whaling’s education: Glenbard North High School; College of DuPage – General Studies, Elgin Community – General Studies.
