THE FOLLOWING RELEASE IS FROM CONGRESSWOMAN MARY MILLER’S OFFICE
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15), Chairwoman of the Congressional Family Caucus, introduced the Stop the Sexualization of Children Act to protect children from being exposed to explicit material in the classroom.
This bill will amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to prohibit the use of funds at schools that promote any program or activity that includes sexually oriented material, while preserving instruction in science, classic literature, art, and world religions.
“Parents deserve complete confidence that their tax dollars are being used to promote academic excellence — not to expose children to harmful and explicit material that undermines their innocence,” said Congresswoman Miller. “My legislation draws a clear and enforceable line to ensure our schools remain focused on education, not explicit ideological agendas or radical indoctrination.”
