They opened almost two years ago and cut the ribbon about a year and a half ago. And on Thursday (Feb 26th) afternoon the Seven Point of Illinois cannabis dispensary, off Lynch Road at 380 Eastgate Drive, cut the ribbon for their long desired consumption lounge. Seven Point CEO Brad Zerman says it’s been great to earn confidence from the City of Danville, and the public.
AUDIO: We knew we had to open up the store, and do a good job with the store, before we could move along with other projects. I think we were able to prove to the community that we are responsible business people.

Zerman says that in the six to seven weeks the Smoke Lab Lounge has had its “soft opening” Seven Point has been able to show that this lounge is more than just a place to “try their products.” He says they’ve had six to eight acts up on their performance stage some Saturdays. And then there’s been people on “open mic nights” who are very comfortable “just being themselves.”
AUDIO: On open mic, we’ve had people come in and play guitar; we’ve had people come in and rant about their day. And, it’s really cool to watch.

As far as what’s next at Seven Point of Illinois, Zerman says he wants to really expand on the food they’re already offering; and maybe even get a kitchen built on their outdoor deck area.
AUDIO: We could open up a drive-thru right here, on the other side of this fence. We have the parking spaces there. And we could open up a walkup for the kitchen, so people could walk over from other motels and hotels from around here.
And speaking of drive-thrus, Zerman says he’s still waiting for state approval for the drive-thru window he’d like to have on the store side of his Seven Point operation.
