THE FOLLOWING IS A CITY OF DANVILLE RELEASE
The City of Danville Public Works Department is extending its free storm debris collection for one additional week to continue assisting residents with cleanup from the recent storm. Residents who have not yet requested a storm debris pickup are encouraged to contact the Public Works Office at 217-431-2288 to ensure their address is added to the collection schedule. If our team is unable to answer the phone, or it is after normal business hours of Monday through
Thursday 6:30am-4:30pm, please leave a message with your address and requesting to be added to the list.
Residents are asked to place brush piles neatly at the curb. For the safety and efficiency of our crews, all limbs and brush must be no longer than 4 feet in length and of a size that can be safely and reasonably handled by City staff. Brush should be separated from other debris.
Residents may also continue to haul storm-related brush and debris to the City’s Yard Waste Facility at no charge through Thursday, July 2. The facility’s operating hours are:
• Monday through Thursday
• 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m
Beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, the Yard Waste Facility and curbside yard waste collections will return to its normal operating procedures, and standard disposal rules will once again apply. The City of Danville sincerely appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our residents during the cleanup efforts.
