THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE TOWNSHIP RELEASE (plus additional fireworks information from VermilionCountyFirst.com)
Danville Township continues its decades-long tradition of sponsoring the fireworks display at one of the Danville Dans games during the week of Independence Day at Danville Stadium. This year’s game will be on Thursday night, July 2nd. The Township is celebrating its 175th birthday along with America’s 250th. A brief history of the Township will be given just prior to the fireworks. Danville Township was one of the original four townships founded in Vermilion County. It covers the same 50.1 square mile area that it did in 1851 and has the largest population of the 19 Townships in Vermilion County. Offices are located at 18 Southgate Drive in Tilton.
