ORIGINAL STORY:
Traffic is flowing normally along Interstate 74 in the Oakwood area again after a serious crash closed the eastbound lanes for about five hours Thursday night and early Friday. Troopers say the eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed because of the accident near the 203 mile-marker, about half-way between the Fithian and Oakwood exits.
Eastbound traffic was diverted off the interstate at the Illinois route 49 exit….to U.S. route 150 eastbound during the approximately five hour long period. All lanes along the interstate were re-opened shortly after one o’clock this morning.
