With Veterans Day approaching, the Danville High School Music Department is getting ready for their 25th Annual Salute to Veterans Concert. This will be Thursday, November 9th at 6 PM in the DHS Dick Van Dyke Auditorium. DHS Director of Bands Ryan Krapf recently joined Tommy B on D102’s The Big Show.
AUDIO: We have Wind Ensembles performing; and we’re doing Star Spangled Banner. We’re going to do a version of Amazing Grace; and then we’re doing Armed Forces Salute, it’s our big combined number. And then we’ll end with Stars and Stripes.
DHS Choral Director Jeff Thomas says you will definitely be taken back and moved.
AUDIO: We’re going to take a couple of the show choirs as well, a delegation will be performing. We’re going to do a couple of really beautiful pieces. Bring Him Home, a really famous musical piece from Les Mis. And we’re taking it back to like 20s – 30s, doing a little Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, one of my favorites.
The 25th Annual Salute to Veterans Concert Thursday the 9th at DHS will be student narrated, and is free to the public.
