THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE RELEASE
ABOVE: Local manufacturer thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components has donated $3,000 to Danville Area Community College as a way of saying thanks. DACC Welding Instructor R.J. Rowland (second from left, standing) found a way to give his students a real-life welding assignment that would also help the Danville-based company. As a show of appreciation for this partnership, thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components has made a donation for Mr. Rowland to use for buying welding supplies for College Express students. To memorialize the partnership, thyssenkrupp executives visited DACC’s welding center on Nov. 9 for a “Big Check” ceremony. Representing thyssenkrupp are Julie Cunningham, Gerald.Card, and Kay Borrmann. Along with the welding students and Professor Rowland are DACC Foundation Executive Director Tonya Hill, Business & Technology Dean Terri Cummings, and President Stephen Nacco.
