THE FOLLOWING IS A CITY OF DANVILLE RELEASE
Danville, November 6, 2023– Join us on Black Friday, November 24th, as we light up Downtown Danville! At exactly 5:30 PM, the lights from Harrison to Main will be plugged in, lighting North Vermilion Street throughout Downtown Danville. Enjoy hot chocolate and candy canes, courtesy of the City of Danville!
For the safety of those attending the event, roads will be closed from 5:00PM-7:15PM! Closed roads will include Vermilion between Harrison and Main Street, and North Street at Vermilion in both directions. Please seek an alternative route during this time.
Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer says this is Danville’s Third Annual Downtown Lighting Ceremony, and it’s made to look very special for everyone.
AUDIO: And this event is, honestly, just like a Hallmark movie moment; where all the lights come on at the same time. So at exactly 5:30, on Friday, all the lights are going to come on. And then we do some Christmas Carols, Santa’s Downtown; there’s a jazz band, and then we also have free hot cocoa for everybody. So it’s just a really nice, heartwarming moment.
