THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On 12/03/23 around 3:40 am, Danville Police responded to the area of the 600 block of North Griffin Street in reference to a report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers began investigating the incident when they were notified that a victim with a gunshot wound had arrived at the OSF Sacred Heart Emergency Room. Officers responded to the OSF ER to speak with the victim who was identified as a 30-year-old Danville man.
The victim stated he was at a party in the 600 block of North Griffin Street when there was an altercation between several individuals at the party. The victim stated he was attempting to leave the party when he heard several shots fired and he was struck by the gunfire. The victim was listed in stable condition with multiple gunshot wounds to his groin area. There is no suspect information available at this time and no other injuries were reported during this incident.
The investigation into this incident continues and no other information is being released at this time.
