Danville District 118 Assistant Superintendent John Hart says a threat found this week in the girls rest room at North Ridge Middle School was acted upon promptly, and the person responsible has been identified. Hart says he is very appreciative of the district’s relationship with the Danville Police, and that the letter sent out to parents emphasized talking with their kids, and encouraging them to come forth and tell an adult whenever they see or hear any kind of threat.
AUDIO: That’s what we’re asking parents to do; we always have. So it’s good for us to put out a reminder, again, we’re going to take it seriously; and parents need to take it seriously as well, and make sure that they inform any adult. You know, they can tell their parent and the the parent can contact the school, but we want everyone to know that each incident will be investigated.
Hart says the threat was found to be non-credible, and the responsible party is now subject to district disciplinary procedures.
