Danville Firefighters fought recent structure fires on Tuesday (Jan 30th) and this past Friday (Jan 26th). In Tuesday’s incident, firefighters were called to a fire at a wood-frame occupied dwelling at 310 North Crawford Street at 2:22 AM. Fire Department reports indicate that a pile of building materials had burned and spread to the exterior of the home. Firefighters quickly attacked and extinguished the fire before it could enter the residence. Firefighters were on the scene until 3:40 AM, no injuries were reported, damages were estimated at $1500, and the cause remains under investigation.
In last Friday’s incident, firefighters were called to a large two-story, wood-frame occupied residence at 912 North Hazel Street at 10:58 PM. Firefighters found heavy fire coming from the building, as a by-stander told them everyone had made it out safely. A dog and several cats were also eventually removed from the building. Firefighters were on the scene until 2:12 AM; no injuries were reported; damages were estimated at $26,500; and the cause remains under investigation.
