David S. Palmer Arena General Manger Teri Gaffney says the arena board has sent a finalized proposal on to Barry Soskin; to place the closing touch on putting the Danville Dashers back on the ice playing hockey this coming fall. As we reported in November, the agreement was pretty much set, with Soskin telling us Diane Short would return as the team’s general manager. Length of the lease and other details still needed to be fine tuned.
Gaffney says after the board meeting Wednesday (Feb 28th) evening, a final agreement has been forwarded to Soskin.
AUDIO: The board has, you know, basically finalized what they will do. We’re sending it back to Barry. We’re ready to go. Our dates are lining up, and we’re anxious.
Neuhoff Media has placed a call to Barry Soskin.
As for the Palmer Arena’s HVAC issue, where six of the eight units are currently not working; Gaffney says the board has sent what amounts to six different bids out to an engineer for consultation.
AUDIO: There are four vendors that submitted bids. One vendor gave three different options in his bid process. So, in essence, there’s three from him.
A special follow-up board meeting on the HVAC issue could happen as soon as next week.
