The Danville Lions Club is having their annual Chilli Day; this coming Monday, the 4th of March. The Lions Club’s Jeanne Mulvaney recently joined Laura Williams on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection program.
AUDIO: We usually have from 25 to 30 companies that donate either goods or dollars for us, so that helps us keep the costs (down). But it is March 4th, at St. James United Methodist Church, of course, at 504 North Vermilion; from 11 to 7. Tickets are $7. And again, we keep that cost low; with our donors helping, and then the ticket sales.
Proceeds will help the Lions Club meet their motto of, “We serve,” with their special emphasis on helping those with hearing and vision needs. Mulvaney says the Lions Club has over 1.35 million members worldwide, with a goal of reaching 1.5 million.
