Democratic 52nd District State Senator Paul Faraci says; NO, he doesn’t agree with every single thing in Governor Pritzker’s proposed budget. But on the other hand, it’s early yet. Earlier this week, Neuhoff Media spoke with GOP 51st District State Senator Chapin Rose, who said by his estimation a billion dollars has been set aside for helping illegal immigrants, and that more may be hidden by grants. But Senator Faraci says, what the governor proposed is not a done deal. There’s a lot to talk about.
AUDIO: This is a starting point, right? This is the beginning of discussions. Let me put it to you this way: If that was the budget, as of right now and today and that was the end of it, I think I’d have some major concerns. We’re going to work together as a group; the Republican and the Democrats and the Senate and the House; to make sure that what we’re doing is what’s best for Illinois. And for me, what’s best for the people of Vermilion and Champaign Counties.
As far as the migrants issue goes, Senator Faraci says there’s no doubt that Illinois and states all over the country need help with this. And they know where it should come from.
AUDIO: We need help from the Federal Government to make sure that we have any potential resources that are available and needed, in the event that they’re required. This really is a federal issue. And the last thing that the Senator (Rose) or I want is for our residents to be negatively impacted.
Meanwhile, Senator Rose implied that with the Democratic Convention coming to Chicago in August, and lots of time remaining between now and November, Governor Pritzker may have some special White House ambitions. Senator Faraci says, he cannot speak on the part of the governor concerning future plans for higher office.
