The National Weather Service will be conducting a Storm Spotter Training session in Danville on Tuesday (April 2, 2024). The class begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Vermilion County Administration Building (also known as the Cannon Building) at 201 North Vermilion Street. It will be held in the Vermilion County Board chambers located on the second floor.
The class is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required. The session lasts about 90 minutes (with a break in the middle). It is an opportunity for current emergency personnel and trained storm spotters to get a refresher on severe storms. And it is also an opportunity for other people to get training so they can help protect others when severe weather approaches our area.
Tuesday’s class is being hosted by the Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency.
