The Danville Public Schools Foundation announced the funding of three new projects during their Thursday (April 18th) morning 365 Club breakfast.
The Foundation’s Bob Richard has told Neuhoff Media that one of them involves a pair of indoor, interactive playground systems; valued around $34,000 each; for Southwest and Liberty Elementary Schools.
Another program involving Southwest Elementary will be an approximate $14,000 investment for STEM carts for each grade K through 4, which will provide hands-on materials to reinforce Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education.
The final new item is a digital signage project, for about $12,000; for 18 new large screen televisions inside Danville High School, which will be used in conjunction with a special software for student announcements throughout the day.
Richard stated that the donors to the Danville Public Schools Foundation have now funded $108,000 in projects for this year alone, in support of students going to Danville Public Schools.
