Co-owners Cooke and Kurth kick off another season of Danville Dans baseball tonight at a spruced-up stadium (A-1). We visited last week as work continued, Cooke admitting she spends way too much time at "her happy place."

It costs $25 per person to participate, and there are TOP THREE BIG FISH PRIZES for all species. In fact, as organizer Tracy Fairchild explains, fishermen and women of all experience levels are welcome, by boat or from the bank; and if you'd like to compete by going after just one species, they can make that happen.

This season, players from across the country, from as far away as Santa Barbara City College and as near as the University of Illinois.
