Applicants will be screened prior to being accepted into the class, which may include a brief meeting or phone interview. They cannot be a convicted felon and must be up to date on immunizations prior to the start of class. Accepted applicants will be notified.

There is a $100 fee for adults and a $60 fee for youth to cover the cost of this educational session. This fee covers the purchase of educational materials, the examination, and lunch.

Illinois' Safe Haven Law, known as the Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act, is designed to prevent the unsafe abandonment of newborns.

In Vermilion County, families face barriers to accessing mental health services, including provider shortages and transportation challenges but resources are available. This event aims to bridge those gaps by connecting families directly with resources and starting conversations that reduce stigma and offer support.

Horizon Health will also offer optional blood typing to help students learn their blood type (A, B, AB, or O; positive or negative).
