In their letter, Rep. Miller and Chairman Steil are demanding an explanation of the circumstances surrounding the ballot printing errors and suspension of early voting, including what corrective measures are being taken to prevent further disruptions.

The questions seek clarity on the number of incorrect ballots for each impacted race, information on the step-by-step process to ensure the full enfranchisement of every affected voter, and a request to view the process when corrected ballots are counted.

While the errors on in-person ballots have been corrected and early voting has resumed, the campaign has learned that 607 mail-in ballots containing incorrect races have not been returned, and the voters who received those ballots have not yet been notified.

A member of Rep. Schweizer's staff will be available to assist you with any state-related issues, programs, or services. Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointment is necessary to attend.

"Voting is one of the most powerful ways communities shape their future," said Ed Butler, NAACP Danville Chapter President. "We want families to feel confident, informed, and supported as they get ready to cast their ballots."

Each gathering will focus on designated wards, though all Danville residents are welcome to attend any of the meetings. The informal format is designed to encourage open conversation and public participation. Discussion of the City's proposed FY 2027-2028 budget is also anticipated.

Under the current system, judges may order a defendant detained only when the charges and circumstances satisfy requirements established by the law. Schweizer believes those restrictions can prevent judges from considering the full circumstances surrounding certain felony cases.
